Anyone know of a web site or direct number? I did a web search and found a MSDS on it but the information line was no good? Is this still being produced?
Thanks,
Gary
I think I saw if in an Eckler's or Mid American catalog a couple of years ago, but nothing since then. I've heard that it isn't as good as some of the other strippers available at a lower price.

Funny, I just got out of training class an hour ago and we went over the Material Safety and Data Sheet info. :)
Hey Pat,
I did try the razor blades and heat gun. Sometimes the paint came off smooth other times it didn't and I did gouge -   some spots. I was able to remove the paint down to the grey filler? or is this the gel coat? there is a red primer coat under the grey? I didn't dig into the 'glass but was wondering if the Spra' strip would leave a smoother finish?
Thanks,
Gary
Hey Gary, the gray coat is primer. The red coat underneath is the red oxide primer. It's the last layer of primer before you reach the bare fiberglass. Once you get to the red oxide layer, stop stripping and you'll be fine.

There's no gelcoat on a vette as produced. Time to get friendly with the sanding block;)
OK sounds good guys. I barely hit the red in some spots-most of it is grey. I was planning on leavingthe grey primer on and sanding filling it? Should I take it down to the red?
Thanks,
Gary
Thanks George, I remember you suggesting that.
The razor blade clean up wasn't bad at all- just swept up the dry chips. I'm sure the chemical would be a bit more messy.
Gary
if you've never used chemical stripper you have no idea what a mess it is:U It does a half way job of stripping, it is still possible to mess up the fiberglass and it's toxic nasty crap that you have to clean up and avoid touching. I hate chemical strippers.

I've also heard that the chemical stripper is quite a mess and risky at best. The shops I'm currently talking with about doing my stripping and body work says they refuse to use chemicals on the car. They suggest dry sanding it all the way down with a DA. Just my 2 cents. Good Luck.
I haven't a clue what the bad rap is with chemical strippers...sure it's a mess, no way around that, but it get's the paint off without any nicks and gouges. You can't prove by me it's bad stuff, not when u look at the finished product....

I'd have to agree. Stripped mine with spra-strip, no problems. Of course, it was done in a commercial setting. Might be a little much for a home garage.
I'd sure hate to see a car stripped completely with a DA, the seam work that had been done in '74 on mine was bad enough.
I have used the spra strip before and ill say dont buy it from anyone but the main supplier.I bought some frome MAD and it was like jelly ,their excuse was that they buy it in bulk once a year and I had recieved the last of that shipment.DONT do the razor blade thing ,I tried that once and Ill never make that mistake again. If youll notice ,the razor blade is straight and your car is curvy .Sorry if I sound like a smart azz. :seeya :D
I would like to try it on a hood I have off another car. Do you have contact info for the company? I tried searching the net but couldn't find them and their phone number off the MSDS was no good?
