69 Deck Lid Lock Removal
My driver side deck lid lock appears to have locked up (no pun intended) and won’t allow me to open the lid more than an inch or firmly close the deck lid down. The passenger side works fine and it doesn’t appear to be the cable, which is working. Something in the lock assembly is frozen. So, before I start trying to unbolt the lock from the deck lid to look at it, any suggestions or things to try first? I’m worried that I won’t be able to replace it properly once I remove it. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

My 69 has rods that operates the locks. It is adjustable with a screw/ball thing on the inboard end. Unless your latch is completely frozen it may just need to be pulled a bit more to fully unlatch. The AIM has a good picture of how it all works- The PO had swapped sides with the latches on my 69 and the lid was nearly impossible to release. Swapped sides and adjusted per the AIM and it works fine.
