Paging MountainMotor
Good news, just got the engine running!:cheers:

The guy at Corvettes and Classics, who built the engine, was drooling over the Pro Torker heads. So far, I have racked up about 75 miles on the rebuild, and it runs great. Also, the engine has a much deeper tone at idle than the old engine.
Now, if I can just restrain myself for a few hundred more miles:D Can't wait to take it to the track.

These heads are a great value. I have the 67cc Torker series, which is a good street head. They have other versions, like the lightning series. They are good quality heads that flow nearly as well as AFR's of the same size, but for less $$. :cheers:

Glad to here all is well and instructions were followed without problems :)
How does it idle and respond with the Q-jet on it?
When you put headers on it will really come around in the middle and top if the carb is tuned for it.

Yep, it's my first performance engine.
It idles very smooth, with kind of a deep growl. In fact, it idles better than the older engine. The old engine didn't idle well below 900, this one idles well down to 600 rpm.
I don't know about throttle response yet. I have really been easy with it, and haven't floored it yet. I can't wait.
When I buy roller rockers, is there anything I need to know, or will any of the quality brands work?
