Hi all, first post here and can’t find much in the search.. I have a 1980 and recently after changing dash bulbs, I have no turn signals inside or outside and no reverse lights... fuse ok and flasher ok... hazards do work...
ive testes and have power to the fuse but not the flasher. People say the switch goes bad, but makes me think it’s not that because of the reverse lights?
Are you getting power to both sides of the fuse on the clips. These contacts corrode . If so the fuse goes to the flasher on dark blue wire. This is the dir/bu fuse right. Don't think changing dash lites have anything to do with it.
ps..neighbor has an antique Mercedes....paid for a shop to replace all the bulbs....Bulbs were correct....but the Tech SLATHERED the bulb holders with dielectic silicone...no worky. Cleaned the bulbs and holders and bingo!
I Seem to recall changing the front turn signals bulbs, and you have to be careful they are inserted correctly (for a 73 combination two Filament Bulb). Also recheck to ensure you have the correct bulbs?
I noticed the front “cornering” (1156) right side marker bulb was out and thought that could be why the corresponding amber (168) direction turn signal just stays on and does not flash. The left side turn signal flashes, so prob not the signal flasher relay. I replaced the bulb and discovered that the bulb would light up but instantly got extremely hot and I was worried about fire hazard. Also, it didn’t fix the problem and the right amber signal bulb still just stayed on and did not flash. Maybe it’s a bad ground wire to the socket? Or maybe the socket is bad ? Any ideas?
