Default leaking exhaust manifold?

My 75 Coupe with stock 350 except no cat converter appears to have a manifold exhaust leak only on the right side. Ticking on idle from that side, kind of Harley-ish sound on acceleration, some backfiring if you let off the gas quickly. Feels like less pressure coming out of left tail pipe than right. Not much room on the right side, exhaust probably on 20 years.

Any tips on fixing this, best to just bring it to a shop or is it fixable in a home garage?

Thanks.

does it have true duals?

does it have exhaust flapper on right side just below manifold?

maybe it's simply a loose or burned-out doughnut gasket just below manifold

Slap on a set of these....retorque after each heat cycle (after it's cooled) until they hold torque.....

Your best bet right now is to buy some PB Blaster and start spraying the six manifold bolts, everyday, for 3-4 days. If the leak is the gasket between the manifold and head, you can change those out sometimes without removing the manifold entirely. You will need a 1/2" gap to scrape the old gasket out and insert the new.
Some gaskets are made to drop in with the bolts still attached. If not, just cut a slot into the bolt hole.

Helllo

I had same issue with my 68

I bought a doughnut gasket as well as the paper ones fore and aft the heat riser

Soaked the 3 bolts for 5 days with liquid wrench they came out easily.

Pulled out the corroded doughnut gasket replaced with new.

Replaced the paper gaskets as well

Re-torqued bolts popping and backfiring gone much more power

Just take your time and it will be a 1-1/2 hour job.

Good luck
