Default 81 a/c system o-ring placement

I got an o ring kit to replace all the o rings on my 134 conversion. In the package there’s all different sizes of the rubber ones, then there’s about 4 or so of these metal ones with a small black rubber o ring on the inside, as all one piece. The guy at the parts store said those metal ones go where the manifold connects to the back of the compressor. There wasn’t anything like that when I took it apart
It looks like there are some black o rings in a groove on the back of the compressor. Do those little metal ones go over the ends of the tubes on the manifold? If so it won’t sit completely flat, and I thought it was supposed to be flat against the compressor

The metal gaskets that you are referring to are made for different applications for that compressor and manifold. It cover many gm vehicles. The washers need to be pried out of the compressor and the new ones added. Make sure you size them correct one is larger than the other and use the same space when you bolt up manifold

the guy at oriellys said those 2 metal o rings with the black rubber goes on the 2 lines that go in the back of the compressor. Is that right?
i thought those 2 lined are supposed to sit flat on the comp

I did as Greg said and used a pick to get them out.
I’ll check at the parts store tomorrow and see if I can get new ones.
Ill have to get another accumulator too. I stripped the top port out thinking it was screwing in.

the delco compressor I brought did not come with the correct washers. The bag they came in were delco but they were not correct. Went back to part store and they had the correct ones. Remember the compressor side has different dept and size orifice. If you look at your photo they are flush with the manifold the new ones will be a little more thick. They were green and red

I got the o rings out of the back of the compressor. They are black. You can see them in that one picture. I brought them with me and hopefully the parts store has them
just so I remember right, the lines coming out of the back of the compressor, the one to the passenger side goes to the condenser and the one to the drivers side goes to the bottom of the accumulator correct?
