im thinking of buying a composite spring for my 68 and I wanted to know which weight is best suited for my application. I’ll be installing 460 front springs and I have bilstein heavy duty shocks.
This is is a street car. No racing/track/twisty mountain roads.
Just going fast in a straight line.
300 lb is stock
330 is the upgrade with 460 front springs
360 is the F41 replacement with 550 lb front springs
400+ lbs is usually used for rag racing or just racing.
Agreed. I’m running a 330 Vansteel with Bilstein HD’s and 550 fronts. This was their recommendation. Driver/cruiser no race racks. Ride is nice, firm but cushy enough - I wouldn’t go softer in the rear. I’d possibly go 360 if I did it again, but wouldn’t hesitate to go 330 if you have 460 fronts - would probably be great match and It should be a nice ride. I wouldn’t go as low as 300 just my opinion.

Okay so van steel 330 spring. I know the trw is cheaper but raises the height so scratch that. I did see on the website they have a shortened spring, what is the reason for that? Is it for wheel clearance?
Yes - mine is shortened and I am running offset trailing arms. You can call them and they’re very helpful. If you’re not running a set already, also get a 8” bolt kit so you have sufficient adjustment up/down.
