I did some searches on the forum and found extensive discussions ultimately concluding that Spicer (brand name) Universal joints are the best for C3's. Supposedly that's what the car came with. I called every shop in my area and they don't carry them. Two questions:
1. Are Spicer U joints critical? What about some of the other, made in USA, heavy-duty aftermarkets such as Precision? What about TRW? are they any good?
Be Happy......Buy Spicers,
Especially for the Haft Shaft U-Joints....If your car is not racing or used at the drag strip....Use the ones you mentioned they should be okay.
Solid Spicers are the best U-joints... Even when looking at them - their quality looks so much better than the quality of most other U-joints...
I use 5-799X for my halfshafts...
