do I need to install the upper molding clips that hold the outer trim on top front of windshield before windshield is put in? it seems you crack windshield when trying to get the rusty ones out...thanks..Malcolm
Yes, the upper trim clips MUST go in before the windshield is installed and the glass must be removed before clip removal or you are going to crack the glass trying. Seems you found that out....
New glass is also about .070" thinner than the original stuff so make sure your damming strip is slightly thicker than the original 5/16" or you will have a gap between the glass and trim. My 69 glass was .275" thick and replacement glass is about .205". I used a 3/8" strip for proper trim gaps instead of the original 5/16ths.
