I'm trying to decipher the rear end code on my '69. It's Hard to read, but it looks like AN 11769w.
I can't remember where I saw the codes listed, can someone help me with this. I thought it would be in the Black Book, but it wasn't.
I don't know if someone already answered this or not. The main thread shows four responses, but when I opened it I only see your original post. Probably a glitch in the new system.
The "AN" means you have a 3.55 Positraction rear. In 1969, there were three different kinds of rear ends available: standard (no posi); positraction; and heavy duty positraction. Ratios available were 2.73, 3.08, 3.36, 3.55, 3.70, 4.11, and 4.56.
