Replaced broken shift cable but having trouble with car shifting into reverse. It acts like it is low on transmission fluid but is not. Readjusted cable according to book but still hesitating before catching. Any ideas, Please
Did the car sit for an extended time? If so, it's fairly common for the reverse seal to dry up/get hard. Then when the car's fired back up it's slow to get the pressure/seal needed to get into reverse. Sometimes you can fix this with a can of that transmission fix stuff. Run it for a couple hundred miles and see if it clears up. If not, you'll eventually have to O/H the unit.
