1971 -454. I've just replaced my Muncie 20 with a Tremec 5 speed. The Muncie I pulled out was rebuilt 5 years ago but has less than 500 miles on it. Clutch too.
Slick swap, no cutting. Afterwards, I'm left with the clutch, pressure plate, tranny, shifter and linkage, drive shaft, yokes, mounts and hardware. I'm thinking this would be a pretty nice package for someone to convert from a manual to a stick. To do so the buyer would need to add clutch pedals, change the bell housing, and alter or buy a drive shaft. I'm sure there's more to it than that, but doable.
Am I wasting my time marketing this as a package or am I better off selling the tranny, clutch, and shifter separate.
Just trying to justify that 5 speed.

Sounds like a good plan. It moves everything and should work for someone. On the other hand I'd be ready with a back-up plan just in-case someone makes an offer for some of the items that is hard to refuse.
Of course the ideal thing might be to hang onto the items if time and space allow, but it's hardly likely these will ever end up back in the car. And they do represent value today that may not exist in a few years.
Few do conversions to 4 speed any more. If they are gonna do that much, they will go the extra for 5 speed. Every piece is needed by somebody who has a broken or damaged one now. I think selling the parts seperately would be a better way to go.
