Default 1980 Windshield Wiper Washer Wiring

Ok, so I have a 1980 that I am wrapping up a frame off rodstoration on. It got an LS and T56 with 3.73 gears, powdercoated frame, etc. etc. Anyways I am wiring up the car with a painless harness as my original was in rough shape, and I do not plan on using any of the factory security features, but I am running factory a/c, factory wipers, and factory power windows/door locks. As such, I am using the factory wiring for those systems, carefully removed from the stock harness and replacing wires/connectors as needed.

I bought a new wiper switch, and new Lectric Limited pulse module (solid state, not the old relay box), and have successfully gotten the wipers working. They run in delay (though sometimes they seem to go 2 or 3 strokes before pausing), and the pot on the switch adjusts speed. They run on low, they run on high, they park when I turn them off, and they run on low speed when the switch is held down in the washer position. I have a wiring diagram from a Mitchell book from my buddies shop, and that shows the washer pump wired into 2 of the 4 wires that connect to the wiper motor (the white wire which is the 12V power feed from the control module, and the pink wire which is the feedback from the motor cover back to the module). The problem I am having, however is that if I wire it up that way, the pink wire does not go to ground in the washer position on the switch, so the pump doesn't run.

On top of that, using a voltmeter, I am unable to find a combination of wires that has 12V across them in only the washer position. I have looked through all of Willcox's tech info, and while they have some good information, I haven't found any good info on the washer pump...

Can anybody help me out here? From all the research I have done, resources seem very slim on this topic. Could there be an issue with my motor cover? That is the only thing that I haven't replaced, and it might explain the sometimes squirrely performance of the intermittent delay feature...

Oh, and FYI, none of the wipers or washers worked when I bought the car. For that matter neither did the headlights or air conditioning...or power windows...or door locks... I don't know what I was thinking when I bought this thing, ha!

Ok, so after some more troubleshooting, it appears I have a brand new switch that is bad...

When in washer position, the switch is supposed to ground the pink wire heading to the control module. This then tells the control module to ground the pink/black wire going to the motor cover/washer pump, and also starts a timer for the wipers once you let go of the washer position on the switch. My switch doesn't do that. when I jump across the terminal for the ground and for the pink wire however, the washer pump runs, and the wipers run on low for a good 4 or 5 swipes after the ground is pulled.

So anyways, hopefully this can help someone else in the future. Replacement switch is on the way....
