You mean the Retainer or (Plug) as its called in the 50-505-3 Instruction Sheet part #43. Corvette Parts & Illustration Catalog says 69-77 W/ROCH 4BC Gr.3.825 GM #7029849

If you're talking about the accel pump check ball, you cannot use a screw. You have to use the correct ball retainer that looks like this:

Thanks i just ordered one because i lost the original i assume but the carb was given to me and it is for a 77 so who cares what it cost as long as i can get it to run.
