I have a 68 with L79 that now has a Holley 4150. I got the car in April and at that time it had some type of aftermarket fuel filter. I bought the correct filter and the correct fuel lines for a QJet. Of course the lines didn't work so I had to adapt. I would like to clean this up and replace the line from the filter to the carb but haven't found a source. I am hoping someone has been where I am at and knows where to find a line that would work or someone that can make one up from the filter to the carb. I even tried using the front bowl from a spreadbore and thought this was going to work but the transfer tube angle was off. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
My 66 L-79 has the same factory setup. You may want to check the parts books for factory configurations. The 66 had rigid lines to the carb. If I remember correctly, the 65 had rubber lines to the carb. Hope this helps. Jerry
Thanks Tampa Jerry. I thought I had looked into this and found that the 66 didn't use the same fuel filter setup. I will definitely look again and thanks for the tip. I just can't imagine someone hasn't run across a situation like mine and found a solution. I was hoping the company that I bought the rigid lines from would be able to make a custom set but the contact person said no. Thanks again.

The L79 '65 factory setup looks like this. It used rubber hose from the filter to the carb inlet, which is on the driver's side of the correct L79 carb. '68 is similar, and retains the driver's side single inlet carb:
Lars, nice looking motor.
I could do something similar to what is shown on Lars 65 motor. Find a fitting for the top of the filter and one like is shown on the 65 L79 carb and use a rubber hose between the two. At least this would eliminate all the adaptors I currently have in my present configuration. Still hoping someone has a hardline solution from the filter to carb.
Thanks
Stainless or mild steel hard line can be purchased almost anywhere with the nuts.
Bending and flaring tools can be purchased at most auto parts stores.
You can make your own line in minutes.
It seems that every solution I consider generates another set of issues. Per OldCarBum's suggestion, I have found a company that can provide a hardline with the correct fittings on each end but I will have to bend. Not quite as he suggested but the same idea. With my existing aftermarket breather assembly, this would work but since I have the Winters intake, I have minimal hood clearance so I have been looking at a breather with a lower fitting pan, like the BB air cleaner assembly. Unless I use some sort of banjo fitting right out of the carb inlet, I do not have enough clearance between the fittings/tube and the breather pan I would like to use for hood clearance. As Lars mentioned, the item that would get me where I need to be would be a banjo fitting out of the carb. At this point, it would be nice to find a banjo fitting that would fit a tubing nut instead of a fitting for a rubber line.
Thanks to all for the suggestions and the time spent trying to help. I think I have a direction now. Hopefully, it will work out.
