Turned 18 a few days ago  the parents pay nothing, I pay all my own bills, ie gas/insurance/payments on the vette and on the truck(truck was payed off as of june 2002) its really not too bad for a teenager, you can do this by
1. having a job
2. having another job
3. be willing to have a loan over your head for 5 years
3. having no social life
i guess its all on where you'd rather spend your time doing
I think it is great seeing the growing numbers of C3 owners age 25 and under, but the driving force behind old car ownership seems to be what car was imprinted on your brain at age 16 !! People who were 16 between 1968 and 1982 (the C3 model years) are now age 36 - 50. :) I now own the car I lusted after when I got my license at age 16!! :) MJ
Just turned 30 last month. The odd thing is that when i was very young i did not "appreciate" the long nose swoopy curve look of our sharks. I though the car was out of perportion ( pictures in mags dont do sharks justice).
My appreciation for vettes in general and sharks in particular was an evolution. My first automotive love was a toss up between Burt Reynolds Bandit 77 Firebird ( very very very popular in the late 70's) and the General Lee. The vette was the last car on my soon to be vette opsessed mind.
