Looking for some advise: This a factory AC car, utilizing the existing air box ect. Converting to 134 w/ POA bypass kit, dual condensor ect. Installed a new factory type Evaporator,
For the 508 compressor bracket; I would really like something proven that lines up with the correct WP 3 grove pulley and clears the hood. I would also like to go with the signal v grove pulley for the compressor.
I have not been able to search and find pics or specific info.Hoping this would be a nice little winter project.
Much Thanks Mike
Working on my (small block) C3 doing the a/c (VIR Elimination) conversion right now.... the compressor brackets that came with
my kit are from Alan Grove Components Inc... their website may be able to shed some light on your situation. Try google for the site address.
Yes I have seen those. I have seen pics with them actually on a car but they look a bit unsightly I may be totally wrong though. I found a really nice one from Billit speacialties but it mounts itthe compressor a tad to low for a big block. Thanks much for the reply. Mike
I was somewhat surprised when I pulled my evap out. The entire compartment was packed full of 50 years worth of you name it. Wondered why I never could get a lot of air flowing. Not to mention it was no longer properly sealed allowing hot engine compartment air to enter into it.
You can buy a complete conversion kit OR just the brackets you need from ClassicAutoAir.com. They make kits for every C3 configuration up to 1978 (I believe).
Phone won't let me post a link right now. 360446494030. Ebay item number. He has a bunch of different setups. This is not a sand and compressor. I believe it is the knock off essentially identical. He may be willing to put together a bracket and hoes and dryer combo without the compressor. Might be worth communicating with him to see. i believe this is cassic auto air setup. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1968-CORVET...AAAOSw2fpasT2N

The updated brackets from Vintage Air for the Sanden compressor and the supplied spacers will get the compressor sitting right where you want it. It’s low and clears the hood (barely) and it sits right up against the inner fender so you can easily get the valve cover off. It will line up to the 3 groove water pump pulley perfect.
