Default Hood support

This may be a stupid question, but here goes anyway. I recently purchased an aftermarket L88 hood locally from a member here on the forum (very happy with the look and extra clearance BTW). I have the ‘72-‘73 style hood support, and it is too short. The hood came off a ‘68. Do I need the ‘68 style, or will the ‘69-‘71 style work?

I would think the 69-71 support would be your best bet, because the base is the same as, or close to, the 72-73 support's base. The 68 support uses a somewhat different base.

YOure correct. THe 68 ( again) was improved apon on the 69 year. 68 had only 2 bolts on the fender side, 69 and later had 3 And I think the hood pin reicvers on the 68 hood may be either drilled differently or in slightly different locations. I would use either I hood a alignment tool (either bought or made) to insure the pins line up and that the release will work

Thanks everyone. This is the exact information I was looking for. It looks like the ‘69-‘71 is actually the best option because the 3 bolt mount looks the same as the one on my ‘72. And costs less, which is always a bonus.
