HI
I would like to change my corvette 77 for a injection
the power is really same ?
If you are considering between to two I would choose based on your mechanical skill. What carb is on your 77? Is it the stock quadrajet or has it been changed to a Holley or Edelbrock? What is your skill in being able to rebuild or tune a carberator? Are you more technology savy? How well do you understand electronics? Finally, do you work on your car or do you pay someone else to?
Too close to measure. Why though? A well set of Qjet is about as reliable as youll ever get.
What do you mean by ethanol....gas with eth in it? We all have it it will work fine.
It will cost thousands of dollars and run about the same. Real cold/hot restarts imo is about the only benefit.
If you get a good carb with the choke set up right they fire up immediately.
The power with fuel injection should not be any worse than with a carburetor and could be better if the carb wasn't tuned properly.
I've been talking to a crate engine manufacturer about a new engine for my '73. They dyno each engine that leaves their shop and they tell me there is no appreciable difference in power between their carbed engine and one with a throttle body injection system. The benefits of fuel injection have convinced me to switch. Hopefully, you'll discover that a good fuel injection system will allow you to run the bioethanol.

EThanol is bad on old rubber fuel lines. Here we are mostly 10% ethanol, some palces are up to 15%. Is the bio ethanol 100%? That wold be the same as running methanol that the racers use or close to the E85 we have in pumps here.
In any vehicle you would have to change everything rubber over to accept the corrosive nature of the fuel. Rebuilding the carb to ethanol impervious gaskets and changing the rubber at the fuel pump and the tank would have to be done regardless. I would rebuild the carb at he lower cost and then see how it runs. And the fuel pickup filter sock may corrode as well. I dont know about that. If your tank is lined you may want to change the tank to a newer one. The benefit is it will be over 100 octane so you can really tune it
Hah i remember those. Id go to school then change my dad woulda killed me.
Used to collect every speed part sticker on the planet, those car craft front plates etc.
