Default 69 Headlight Doors

Having a hard time getting enough vacuum to either raise or lower both headlight doors. I can do 1 door at a time after disconnecting 1. What are the possibilities for the weak link in the system? All new hoses, checked & rechecked for proper connection. Oiled all points on the hdlt ***'y. Replaced check valve, filter, hdlt swx... Any ideas out there?

Many times the 'grommet' seal in the actuator needs to be replaced.

Here's a good 'How-to' to help you check each component.

There is a great DIY on YOUTUBE, how to rebuild the actuator.

I had slow action on my 72, checked the seals on the 2 head light actuators and the wiper door. After ruling those out, I needed to replace the controllers. That solved my issues and from super slow they now slam up and down. That is with all original hoses. So food for thought. One step at a time and start with the cheap parts and a brake vacuum pump really helps.

Good Luck
Joel

This troubleshooting guide will work for the wiper doors for the override switch and the relay valve...same same, different functions.
