New upper ball joint - not sure what brand, but it had part number B18H on top. The grease fitting is on top and came off the ball joint, but the boot is firmly attached.
I'm not sure how exactly to remove the boot so the joint fits properly. I've tried to get something between the boot and the bottom of the top flange, but I'm afraid I'm going to tear the boot.
Is there a trick that I don't know about.
This is frustrating. The joint almost fits in the hole, but it's about 1'16 of an inch friction from the boot lip to keep it from sitting flush.
Ball joints came from corvette mods - as part of a kit.
BTW - big never mind on the boot removal - just put in in a vice and pry it off the top - I was being to gentle with it - didn't want to tear it. Anyway - all's well - stupid post after all.
