I think the fuel pump can stay attached to the engine and clear the passenger control arm when the engine is lifted. correct?
In order not to drain a full tank of fuel on the floor upon unhooking the rubber lines to the pump, I plan on sticking a bolt in the line and a small hose clamp.
What size are the lines? 3/8 bolt should fit? Will the return line need to be plugged as well? 5/16 bolt for that one?
I do not plan on taking the transmission pan off to drain it, (removing trans separately than motor.)
Can I simply undo the cooling lines and drain some of the fluid that way, and leave the rest of the fluid in the transmission, and deliver it to the rebuilder that way? I plan on plugging the tailshaft.
I have no fan shroud and use an electric fan..... water pump can stay on motor and clear everything correct?
Return line should be OK, it's at the top of the tank
When not running, virtually all of the trans fluid is in the pan, full mark on the dip stick is at the joint between the pan and trans body, you'll loose a little through the tailshaft and maybe some from the speedo but the lines will one have whatever is in them (more or less)

pull the hood to be safe and I found it easier to put the front on jack stands and pull the tire on the side that you are going to use the engine crane on. Use a lot of moving blankets to keep the crane off your paint.
You may not need to, but I always pull the radiator too for more room to clear the tail shaft of the trans, but you said thats coming out seperate. But theres always a chance your motor could spin and hit your radiator
Find an old slip yoke or a red plastic trans plug. Get some blanks to plug the trans line fittings......
Pull the crossmemeber out of the way of course.
