ain't nuthin' better than TQ specs from mfg or credible manual ... then there's Machinery's Handbook but it requires some maths ... then guidelines

All good info....but this guide only applies to STEEL nuts/bolts in STEEL components. Depending on the materials you will be retaining...and how thick the metal may be....those torques could be quite different. Still, that is a very good primer on fastener torque application. Everyone should read at least the first section of it so that they really have a decent comprehension of the purpose and method behind the fastener torque process.
