Default 350 combo

I rebuilt the engine of my 71 C3 straight. it's a 350 with Scat forged crankshaft and Mahle forged pistons. Compression 9.5, I would like to use AFR 195 Street Heads, Edelbrock Rolling Thunder Camshaft 2201,, Howard Lifters 91164N, roller bearing rocker with 1.6 stroke ratio, Performer RPM Air gap 7501 intake manifold, original Quadrajet carburettor and original flow optimized exhaust manifolds. What do you think about this combination? Does it all fit together and which performance will come out?
Best regards
Wolfgang from Germany

It will probably be a flat piston crown. My engine builder designed the piston bottom itself

Not a fan of that cam. Long slow ramps and a 112* LSA. I believe those rolling thunder cams are for sound not performance.

origional exhaust manifolds, even flow optimized I would think it would impede the high rpm flow, which this build seems to be aimed at.

i would want 10.0 CR or better for this combo.

that being said if you are willing to sacrifice low end performance ( cam, rpm intake, 195 cc heads) and some high end ( exhaust manifolds) as well it will run ok in the mid range.

Go to a smaller head and find a better cam to use.......add a point of compression. And don't bother using those expensive heads if you are going to bolt manifolds to it......negates a lot of the benefits........long tube headers are the order of the day. You also will be jetting the Q-jet.......there are people here that can help you with that.
I like this cam for your combo:

I agree, that is a nice cam. Big split for an AFR head though. 225/225 @ .050" on a 108 LSA would make it better I think.

Not sure the spreadbore QJet will work right on a Eddy 7501, but maybe.
So you have more compression, better heads, bigger valves, more flow intake, more lift rockers,
then choke the **** out of it with cast iron exhaust manifolds.
It will run like crap with those. Similar to shoving an white spud up the tailpipe.

I don't understand the need for 1.6 rockers when buying a new camshaft. When purchasing a new cam buy one that doesn't need amplication by increasing rocker ratios. All manufactures sell them. Also the 7501 probably doesn't fit under stock hood. T
