It doesn't matter which one you use, they all are wired the same. For your '75, I would use the 72-74 volt gauge since it would match your other cluster gauges and fit right in place.

The C3 used AMMETERS in gauge clusters thru 1976. VOLTmeters didn't come into the clusters until 1977.

So, do you want to CHANGE from an ammeter to a voltmeter? Or do you just want to replace the ammeter?

In either instance, you need to verify that the meter actually needs replacing before spending the money. Most "gauge" problems are sensor or wiring related, rather than the meter being defective.

The size and shape of the 77 to 82 volt meters is the same, but the face is slightly different, function is the same. On mine, I taped up the wires from the old ammeter and got volt meter power from the gauges.

Different than the ammeter, but all the volt meters have the same terminals.
