Default 4.8 Turbo Build

Has anyone out there put together a turbo build using a 4.8 engine. I was originally on the hunt for a junk yard 6.0 ls but as fast as the junkyard receives one they are gone in like 3 days. Its so bad that I think the workers pull them for other businesses as a side hustle. So right as I started to look into the 5.3L I read the engine specs for the 4.8 and to be honest this seems like the perfect donner for my OBS Truck. I"m only looking to clear 500-600 on the wheels. 500 would be really good 600 would be my max I would want for this truck. The things that seems to deter other racers is what I like about the engine:

Smaller Stroke - means I could probably rev the snot out of it
Low Compression - perfect for my turbo application
Availability - plentiful as a matter fact I see other people in the junk yard walking away from them even fully intact engine
Displacement - I know it's small but the turbo should more than make up the difference so, I think
IBeam Rods - I normally shoot for H-Beam but I'm looking for this engine to rev pretty hard and the I-beams are lighter

The only thing I'm unclear on is the PCM in them. I'm looking for one that does real time tuning but it's not a deal breaker, I just need to do my homework. So I'm asking the question has anyone built a turbo junkyard 4.8 and is the juice worth the squeeze. I only want to add new springs, cam (not sure I need cam since I will turbo) and possibly methanol to keep it running cool. I just don't see the need to waste money on that since my hp goals are low. I don't plan on forging the pistons and rods unless I have to. I do plan on porting the heads but it will be a home porting vs purchasing aftermarket ones. The end state is to have a fast revving torquey engine that smokes the snot of tires and sound nasty. 500rwhp is plenty I think 600 is just the icing on the cake. please provide any comments that you feel will aid in the research.

I'm confused. Is this for a truck or a C3?

Pretty sure it's for OP's truck

Fyi, the hyd lifters and springs will limit your rpm to 7000 or less rpm so I think any bottom will take that. 4.8, 5.3, or 6.0 bigger the better would work best.

Yes the LS 4.8 will be going into a GMT400 OBS truck. I want to run a turbo on the 4.8 or 5.3 engine. It's just I was hell bent on this 6.0L but after doing some reading it looks like the 4.8 or 5.3 can hit the 500+rwhp with no problem I'm just asking the question is there anyone out there hitting these numbers without upgrading rods and pistons. I know the crank and block can hold up to 1000hp .
