can anyone tell me if they have used wheel adapters from vette brakes,if so happy unhappy with the product and there safety.any info would be greatly appreciated.
I ordred a set form some other company and had a huge vibration over 55mph.So I sent them back and waited for the repairs/replacements. I get 6 lug 4x4 adaptors.Having reached the boiling point, callad VB. In 2 days had the correct parts. The quality was apparent. The problem was the Weld Draglites have a flat flange where the rim would seat on the adaptor. The lug nuts that mount the adaptors stuck out past the top of the adaptorsTook the adaptors to a local machine shop and the Adaptors and lugs had to be modified. All said and done the wheels are on the car and the fit is perfect.
The VB adaptors would have fit perfectly using stock Vette wheels, the problem was created by selecting the wheels I choose.
I bought my wheel adaptors from VBP some around 7 years ago, and after 5.5 years down here in daily driving, they are in great shape, many a run up to 130 mph...and a few over....;-)))
and the roads down here are not great either...and my neighborhood has those dammed rumble strips near a school...stupid planners...but that's another story....well they tear up a car real good....wheels/adaptors...everything fine....
I remember when I bought them 2.5 was one size thicker than they catalogued at the time...they made them for me....one set, the other set being 2.25 inch...and so I returned the 2.25 inch set as too narrow, exchanged for 2.5 inch......at NO charge....now, for a new customer....
that's going the distance....
BTW, those adaptors will last through a NASCAR season....bulletproof....
