Have corvette 1996 LT1 & 4L60E that I'm installing in a '74 C3. Can the transmission tail housing be swapped out using a 700R4 Extension Tail Housing 2 Hole Bottom Mount Style?

I've done some looking and you have to keep the stock speedo sensor in order for things to work properly with the PCM and for everything to shift and be happy. With that said there are folks that manufacture/modify tailshaft housings to be equipped with both. Not sure what all would need to be done as far as mounts and driveshafts go being I have never done the conversion myself but this is what I've found.
Thanks for the info, I will be using a Dakota electronic speedo, so I was hoping just to swap out the tail housing using the speed sensor from 1996 4l60e tranny tail housing.
thanks larry
So the answer is Yes You can switch the Tail Housing. However the Tail Shaft on a C4 is 5/8" shorter. Since the Corvette Rear End is bolted in solid and the Driveline has no for and aft movement You could probably get by with the shaft being shorter.
I have a Standard 4L60e Tail Housing and I'm building a C4 so I am interested in Your C4 Tail Housing. I'd do some more research on the Tails Shaft. I'd love to get Your Tail Housing.
