Default Heater Box Actuator - Help!!!!!!!!

Hi all:
  1. 69 L71 non-ac, heater box actuator
  2. Build date 12/69 (late 69)
  3. Part number on the actuator is 1998962
  4. it is mounted to the bottom of the heater box, the same side were the lever is where the cable attached.
  5. I read a post where a member was looking for the same part and could not find it - then he said nevermind found it - I messaged him with no response - the post was over 5 years old.
here are pictures:

Thank you - Bob Messina

Go on the vintage air thread and see if anyone is replacing their system - they may give or sell it to you

Looks like the same one that was on my 1980 Chevy van

I have a late build 69 (Oct 24, 69) with no A/C and if that is the actuator on the drivers side behind the removable side panel and above the radio, mine has the flat pancake actuator in caskiguy's posts.

Had the same issue with mine some years ago and tried sourcing that same part - ended up rebuilding my original (difficult).
Unfortunately that part was never sold by Chevrolet separate from the heater distribution box.
The heater distribution box is supposedly the same 68-75.
There's a "Corvette Original Heater Core Box Assembly" on ebay now you might want to look at.

You could always strip one from a junk Chevy of the same vintage at a salvage yard.
