When I install my new 406 SBC in the 77, I am using a Holley Double Pumper or one of the clones, not yet decided. Using the 77 style throttle cable, what bracket will I need at the carb to support the throttle cable?
I guess out of all the engine experts on this forum, nobody can answer this question? WIll the bracket used on early C3 Corvettes, equipped with Holley carbs, work with the throttle cable original to a 77?

Curious myself.
When I swapped motors in my 77 and went to a dp holley I had to use the early style cable with the clamp on the bracket.
Something to consider.........
When I went to Holley style carbs on my '69, I changed to a Lokar throttle cable and bracket. Adjustable fit, and bracket fits perfectly on the carb.
I have no pictures to show you but I can relate: '77, Square bore Edelbrock, Holley D.P. and yes the original throttle cable can is used.
Go to Summit and do a search for throttle brackets. Or a less expensive option, EBay has some pretty cool ones also if you want some bling.
Adjustable brackets are a plus but it should also have some means of fastening the return springs to the rear. I have no kick-down hardware on a chrome unit from Summit.
I was hoping to avoid those large aluminum style brackets that appear to me to be way to oversize. I will check out some of the ones mentioned above, including that small Lokar bracket. I think the problem is the 77 throttle cable is made for a different bracket that was used when Chevy installed Holley carbs. They don't mix, but I guess no reason I could not install an early C3 throttle cable into the 77. Everything else is the same.
My 72' with a 750HP and Team G with 1/2" spacer uses the stock 72' Throttle cable and bracket. GM put Holleys on small blocks up to 72', whether or not the bracket is different than a Q-Jet style is unknown to me but I doubt it.
I have had mine bolted on a couple of different ways . first using original parts , had problems with secondaries not opening all the way . New with bracket and return springs built in . Way better and allows for more adjustment and secondaries now open all the way .

Had the same issue on my '68 BB when changing from Quadrajet to Holley DP. The stock cable could be made to work, almost........ but really stock cable/pedal is marginal for full movement of carb linkage. I eventually used an aftermarket bracket, but then the stock drop-down filter base wouldn't clear the aftermarket bracket. Had to use partial drop-down aftermarket filter base and a reduced height air filter element to clear underside of hood - that meant using one of the K & N air filter tops!
