anybody have the connection spot for the passenger side vent hole onthe 1971 gas tank, it runs up in eng compartment via steel tube. Im guessing its connected to the bowl vent on carb. running an elderbrock carb.

the vent line goes to the charcoal canister in the drivers side front fender. From there it has a connection to the pcv valve.

I believe the vapor line from the gas tank to the charcoal canister is on the drivers side and the gas return line in on the the passenger side. There should be three lines on the canister. One to the carb, one to the pvc line and one to the gas tank.

Two distinctly different families of edelbrock carb; both based on designs which haven't been OE on production vehicles for decades;
(1) virtual clone of CARTER AFB (edelbrock continues to produce; majority of edelbrock carbs are this)
(2) virtual clone of ROCHESTER QuadraJet (edelbrock ceased production many years ago; much sought after)
the canister is on the drivers side, its connected to a vent hole on the driver side of the gas tank through a little black box mounted on top of the tank not sure of the correct term ecklers calls it. Anti spill device may be. it runs the length of the frame via steel tube to the canister. Im trying to find the vent line connection that exits the gas tank on the passenger side of the gas tank vent and runs up the pass side frame via steel tube and ends outboard of the exhaust bank on passenger side. it doesn't seem practical to jump over to the other side from there.

The passenger side line is the return line from the fuel pump to the fuel tank.
Passenger side is the return line from the pump to help stop vapor lock, The left side ( drivers) side goes through a liquid / vapor separator, then to the left side of the engine compartment into the charcoal canister.
Some Early 71's may have a vented tank cap , no vent line - if I remember right (it's been a while) and no canister.
On the passenger side there are 2 lines.
Lower one is obviously the feed line.
Upper one is return line.
On the driver side you have charcoal canister return line.
If the car was built with a vapor recovery canister, it did not get a fuel tank vent. The charcoal canister IS the fuel system vent. The '71 had the vapor recovery system and a NON-vented fuel cap.

So to get back to your question, and staying on the passenger side of the car, you have two lines between the front and that back? One that sends fuel to the carb, and one that goes back to the fuel tank?
