Love to see these in a radial...bring back the old sizes
Pos a traction torque twister, first version
Tread similar to M/T
Id pay up to 150 a tire (using a 26" tall M/T 275/50/15)
The few 275s that are out there are 25.x little too short
Many guys looking for 265/50 295/50 G60 L60 etc.
not a big white letter fan but do miss seeing these. Dont care for bfg just not a good quality tire imo
They had some road noise but wouldnt hear it over the exh anyways.
Anyone else hope fora repop of ?? (fill in the blank)
Sheepster, Kelsey Tire produces some excellent old-school tires in a lot of the sizes that one might think popular with the classic car crowd. Unfortunately volume counts for a lot of the pricing on tires and there just doesn't seem to be enough volume to bring the prices into a category many would thing reasonable.
It's the old Catch 22 of marketing, until the volume increases the prices can't come down, until the prices come down, the volume won't increase...
Yeah...lol Sorry but 300 a tire is a ripoff to me. Dreams are for free I guess.
Coker already repops the old “Pro Trac” tires with the I block style tread. They are a good looking tire, offered in the old sizing system...(G60, N50 etc etc).
They would be similar style to what you want. And they are not that expensive. I think $200 each.
Also the current MT Sportsman Pro have a VERY similar tread design to those in the original post, but they are a bias ply. You can still get them new from anywhere.
Yep... I paid $305 for Wide Ovals last year... and they are the worst driving tires I have owned. Lol
yeah I haven’t even driven them yet but just all of the garbage I’m going through trying to mount them makes me hate them. Worst tires I have ever mounted
I guess some things just die. I would love to put some white letter Goodyear polyglas on my 69 like I had on my 66 GTO. Pretty shade of blue smoke in second gear rubber!
New stuff doesn't hardly make a sound let alone the pretty smoke!
(They do drive better.)
AND THE LETTERS STAYED WHITE! BFG really needs their butts kicked.
Did you get the repo radial Wide Oval OR the older bias ply Wide Oval? I was thinking of ordering some From Coker for my Camaro. Thx.
I got the repro RADIALS.... They don't drive terrible like bias plys….but they are VERY squishy on the side walls, they roll over hard in turns. On straight freeway/highways they drive fine, VERY soft riding....they do tend to grab every groove in the road and wander all over the place compared to regular BFGs.... If you want the 60's driving experience, the repro tires will give you that. lol.
I pretty much only use them for car shows and stuff now. I run on BFGs 95% of the time.

Thanks....I had a set of those on a 85 GT with a big block...cant remember how it drove to be honest. Think it was ok
Dont know if its the road or?? but have std M/T on the back and their front runners up front this thing jumps and wanders a LOT.
Where i moved from roads are better & drove fine but this is unacceptable/unsafe
Will have to get underneath make sure something aint loose
MAybe Ill get some regular rubber up front go from there.
These MT are sticky as hell but want a little more tread//puncture protection. And yeah tread appearance is important like the 80s st racer look
