I’m getting ready to put the interior together on my 68 convertible and have a question regarding the brackets that the lap belts pass through. I have the outer brackets that attach to the area by the door. The AIM shows two brackets. There is another bracket that attach to the ones I have and the lap belt passes between them. A lengthy search of the internet does not show the other brackets being available for purchase. My question is; Do I need the other brackets or can I run the lap belts between the brackets and the body?
Hi, There is only one bracket, item #7. The belt is sandwiched between this bracket and the floor. Item 8 is just the bolt. I've just finished putting lap belts in a 68.
There is no second bracket, the diagram is misleading. My VIN is 3011. The bracket or guide item #7, in my car has has four holes, one of which is held by a nut to the rear cabin panel. See pics of mine, one hole not visible on the vertical section.

Thanks Joe. You’re right about the diagram being misleading. It sure looks like two separate brackets. Good to know that I have the correct brackets.
Sully,
If you need them I should have some good pics of the 68 floor pan with the carpet removed (early car). Just post back and I'll see if I can post them to the tech site this weekend.

That would be great if you can post the pics. Thank you sir.
I tried today to find the pictures but the only one i have of the brackets is just like the one you posted above from the AIM.... you really can't tell that much and it's my fault for not taking better pictures when I had the car apart.
