Default Specific 69 wiring question. Is the wiring diagram wrong?

I am doing the wiring on my 69 and ran into a discrepancy. I am using all new M &H harnesses. The problem is on my new engine harness, the white striped resistor wire comes out of the engine harness connector and the temp sensor green wire comes out of the body front/forward lamp harness. In my 69 wiring diagram these are reversed. Is my harness wrong or is this a problem with my diagram?

I guess I need to check the fuse box side as I assume the resistor wire should match up on the other side of the purple wire in the bulkhead connector, and the green to the temp gauge.

Not familiar with M&H harness but the Letric Limited are exactly like the factory harness.

The temp sensor should come out of the forward lamp harness real close to where the alternator plug breaks out- if not in the same place. Resistor wire is in the engine harness that runs across the firewall and down to the starter.

Thanks Tim. Just tell me I am not going crazy. The pictures below are from the 69 Service manual. My green temp wire and white wire to the coil are swapped in my harness. The other thing is when you look at the wires that mate up with these wires as shown in the diagram , the purple wire mates up to the green, and the green from the bulkhead connector goes to the white. Assuming the purple is switched 12 volt that can’t be right. And the green should mate up to green all the way to the temp gauge. So am I crazy or is the diagram wrong? My harness has the white wire to the coil matched to the purple on the inside and green to green.

I have a 69 and both the original and aftermarket Lectric Ltd harness are just as Tim described it.

Well mine is also as Tim described so this diagram must be wrong. This same diagram is also in my 69 AIM and also an NCRS book of 53-72 wiring diagrams. Oh well. Thanks guys. Can you confirm that the white resistance wire should be connected to the purple wire at the bulkhead connector?

I would hate to put this all in and have problems.

I have a couple of wiring diagrams from different sources and so far, they all agree. I'll look at the one I have at home this evening and get back to you.

Thanks Tim. I looked at the 68 wiring diagram and it has those two wires reversed from my 69 diagrams and just like our harnesses. So I have 3 69 diagrams that are all wrong. You never know lol!

Thank you Pat, yes that is how my harness is. I mistook pink for purple lol! I guess there are right and wrong wiring diagrams around and I have three wrong ones. Thanks again!
