Default 81 rear glass

I'm in the process of breaking down my 81 and debating on pulling out the windshield and rear glass out. One of the considerations is if I broke one removing it what would it cost to replace. The windshield isn't cheap but not the end of the world, but I can't find the rear one anywhere online. has anyone had to replace one of these? Any idea how much they run? I expect they are pretty costly since they aren't very popular, but maybe they are just to hard to ship so the online shops don't sell them.

I don't know of any source for new 78-82 rear windows, but there are plenty of good used ones floating around. Anyone who deals in used Corvette parts, probably has a few. The biggest problem with them is that they are expensive to ship, since they have to go on a pallet by common carrier (semi truck), and cost $100-$150 to ship. Because of this, it helps if you can find one relatively close to you, that you can pick up.

The 78-82 rear windows usually sell for $150-$250, depending on condition and whether they are plain or have the rear defogger. I still have two myself, but I think they're plain ones, without the defroster lines.

You should be able to remove yours without breaking it, but even if something does happen, you should be able to find a good used one to replace it.
