Default Keeping your old school vacuum line filter

I started looking at my vacuum system. Like most 68 cars I found the in line vacuum system filter didn't have an intact filter mesh inside. I used a pick to push all of the pieces out. I then pushed some cotton into the center of the filter housing. I can now use my original filter like it was intended. Be careful not to push to much cotton in there, it wont flow air good enough.

I did get a new one. I just wanted to see if I could fix the old one. Maybe someone wants to use there original part.

Update: To much cotton will plug the vacuum. I will try a different fabric.
