Default Steering wandering question

Hey guys, I replaced my steering flexibe coupling(rag joint) and it made a huge difference. The wheel has no play, and the car corrects quickly. It still seems to wander alot and need to be corrected. Is this a simple alignment issue? Any ideas? Thanks to Jim Shea for the advice on the rag joint. I got the right part from chevy and with the instructions I got from his sight, installation went pretty well. I took his advice and dropped the column instead of unbolting the steering box from the frame. Did it myself without major problems, but it would be helpful to have someone help line things up going back with the column.

Did you replace both upper and lower rubber/poly mounts?

Check the idler arm and tie rods for play. I'm told, too, that worn components in the trailing arms can cause the "wandering" sensation, too.

I replaced everything, rag joint, upper and lower ball joints, 3 of the 4 tie rod ends, idler arm and all bearings and seals in the steering box and still it did not feel tight. I then pulled the box back out and replaced the 3 bushings in the box that support the pitman shaft. Mine had about .006 clearance and you want .001 or less. Also the washer in the cap of the steering box is important to prevent up and down motion . That solved the problem but alot of work.
