Default Master cylinder

Replacing leaking master cylinder on my 1982 before it ruins my booster. The shop manual & assembly instruction books show a seal & retainer that goes between the master & booster but I am unable to locate them. Any ideas where to obtain them or are people not installing them? I removed my old cylinder & neither are there. Any help would be appreciated!

Found the seal......still working on the retainer. Obviously no wonder the master was leaking from there! Maybe just cleanup the brake fluid & install deal on old master & it would be fine? Is the retainer really needed? I'll keep looking. Thanks

The retainer is probably for factory use. I wouldn't lose sleep if you can't find it. BUT, if you have fluid out of the master, that secondary piston cup is probably shot. You could replace the piston/seals on the master, or just replace the master. The gasket is just a dust seal, it's wasn't meant to hold brake fluid.
Good luck!
