Default 1976 Idle Stop Solenoid

I need information on an idle stop solenoid for my 76 L48/Auto with a/c. My carb is the factory Quadrajet (17056206) and has the screw holes tapped for the solenoid bracket and I'm also using the factory A6 a/c compressor with the idle stop solenoid connector attached. If anyone has pics of their set up or knows part numbers for this solenoid please respond. Thanks! Greg

Thanks Speed but I don't think that is it ,however, if you have actual experience please let me know. The applications don't list Corvette but reads that it may fit others. (?) From what I gathered so far concerning Corvettes is that 75 and 76 are the same with 77 and up being a different model solenoid.

The solenoid was only on the L88 engine in 76. I went thru the same thing on my 76 cause turning on the a/c would cause the engine to idle out. My quadrajet carb had holes but were not tapped. I just ordered the L88 one and wired the solenoid to a/c power wire so they kick on together. I've got pics of the install somewhere.

Thanks vettegirl! I would love to know the solenoid part number you ordered because I’m having a hard time finding anything. Thanks again!

From the Chevrolet Corvette part catalog. 1975-1976 GM #1997437
There is a aftermarket one on e-bay right now if you search the part number above.
Also, the solenoid bracket mounting holes are semi-countersunk. The correct screws used I'm not 100% but looks like a 27 thread pitch, metric maybe?. These are the correct screws used on my 77.
I guess you could call them slotted dome head countersunk machine screws.

A little more info on the solenoids and brackets, if still interested...

Various models of both the 4MV (1974 and earlier) Q-Jets and the M4M (1975+) carbs used the solenoids. The 4MV brackets cannot used with the M4M carbs and vice-versa. The solenoids themselves will interchange.

This is the 4MV setup. It has a feature that clips over a square cast boss on the carb, and the bracket is then retained to the float bowl with a single screw in the front:

The M4M carbs used a different style bracket - they all used the same bracket, but there were "long" and "short" solenoids. The "long" and "short" can be interchanged. Not all M4M carbs came with a solenoid, so not all M4M carbs have the holes tapped for the screws.

Here is a 1975 M4M with the "long" solenoid:

Here is a 1978 with the "short" solenoid:

Here are some part numbers for solenoids:

Tomco 8132 (Long) Available on eBay here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Carburetor-...MAAOSwWrdbm9lE
Carter 213-157 (Long) Usually available from multiple sources, but currently sold out everywhere
Standard Motor Products ES110 (Short) Available from Summit here:
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/smp-es110
AC Delco 214-2138, aka, 19190917 (Short) Available from Summit here: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ado-214-2138

Lars rebuit my Qjet M4MC 7045228, a remanufactured replacement for 7045211 which was stock for an L-82 with a 4-speed.
Question for Lars: 1975 L-82 4-speed with A/C. Should this carb have a Idle Stop Solenoid?

And to Lars credit this carb is still running great today after the rebuild in 2001. Thanks Lars,

Question for Lars: 1975 L-82 4-speed with A/C. Should this carb have a Idle Stop Solenoid?
Delco/Rochester Bulletin 9C-3090 does not show any solenoid or bracket for the 7045211 carb, or any other carb used that year on that engine. The Bulletin does not show any configuration difference, and does not differentiate, between A/C and no-A/C engines and carbs on the '75 L82. All indications are that that carb did not come with a solenoid.
