I just replaced the strut rod bushings. Cleaned and painted the rods. Made sure the adjusters were working correctly. I struggled for about an hour trying to reinstall the rods. I did lift the trailing arm so they would align a little better. BUT make sure you attach the outer shock mount first, then push the inner end into it's mount. Would have saved me lots of headache. I did discover bubba was working on my rear end. When working on your rear end, make sure they are the correct bolt,,, washer,,, lock washer combination on all of your bolts. Under your nuts, some don't have any washer or lock washer, some have just a lock washer, some have a washer and a lock washer. I am sure GM designed it this way for a reason.
Update: I also discovered stainless bolts in the rear suspension. As tempting as it is to replace rusting parts with stainless steel. I discovered that stainless bolts are not as strong as a grade 8 bolt. My strut rod mount has one of 4 bolts broken off into the differential. Soneone used stainless bolts.
