Default Identify part

I am putting the stock 350 engine back together for my 72 corvette and ran across this part in the box. I took the motor apart 15 years ago and don’t recognize it. Can anyone tell me what it is and or where it goes?

If I had to guess it has nothing to do with your engine. It appears to be a guard and rest combo off of a bench grinder.

Maybe your car had the optional 1972 rear bench grinder?

Looks like the belly pan that mounts on the bottom of your intake manifold!

Might not be stock. Looks like those parts have aftermarket modifications.

Some guys install that on the bottom,,, I think that is incorrect, it should be on top.

Aftermarket parts usually last longer than stock, at least hold up well over the years in this application
