Well, I was quite excited at recieving, on the 20th, the side pipes I purchased from Superfast80. They didnt arrive, but Superfast had already provided me with the tracking number - so no worries.
I call up Purolator - the shipper, and they place a track on it. I get a call back from them this morning - "They are gone AWOL - nowhere to be found, last scanned in the Fresno california depot." and my only option is to file a claim for the shipping cost. :cry :cry :cry
Superfast has been the best throughout this whole affair - being very patient with the delivery of the Money order, which was very nearly lost by the USPS (United States Pinhead Service) as it took over 2 weeks to get from San Diego, to Canada. and then trusting to send them (the pipes) immediately even though his bank wanted to sit on that check for a few days.
So here's my recommendation - Avoid Purolator as a shipping company, I was quite surprised to find out that their tracking department is open 24/7 - maybe its because they have that much tracking work to do.
Sounds like a Purolator employee now has a nice set of side pipes for his vette on your dime. :mad
Thats my opinion too. :mad They said they checked in all places, I suppose its possible they may turn up however they claim the search is over so unless someone trips over them, it sounds like I'm hosed :cry
I got hosed in a similar fashion by JEGS. I ordered a bunch of parts including some headers. I decided I did not want to put the headers on plus they had a few spots where the coating rubbed of during shipping. I sent them back with another box of smaller stuff with the paper work in the smaller box. My girlfriend shipped them through her store by UPS. She did not have a scale to weigh them so the UPS guy just put down 8 lbs. Well I only got credit for the stuff on the small box and when I called they said they did not show a recipet into inventory and since the shipping weight was only 8 lbs it could not be a set of headers. I explained what happened and if you won't refund my $ then send the box back to me. Guy says he had not idea where is it was and basically told me to f off. I was pissed! :mad I will never order from JEGS again. :mad :cuss
Hope you luck out and someone finds them. Guessing you entered a very low declared value for customs and duty purposes.
Well there is good news, I got home this morning and found laying across my dorrstep the package in question. By appearances, it surely has been dragged most of the way here. I can see into the box in no less than three places and there is a bend in the box that I can only hope doesnt translate into a bend in the pipes.
This still doesnt explain why they (purolator) called me and said they were missing, they must have been on a truck to my house by the time this guy called or why it took form the 16th to the 21st to get from Fresno (10 hours north?) to here.
I still am less than impressed with this particular shipping company, but at least they are here.
Sometimes I can be incredibly stupid. Back when Saginaw Steering was part of General Motors, I had a company car. At 3000 miles, the vehicle was returned to GM and another one assigned to me. I left my prescription sun glasses in the car when I turned it in. (Mistake #1):nono:
About a week later, a women from one of the GM Divisions called me from Ohio and said that my old car had been sent to them for auction and they had found my sun glasses before turning the car over.
She asked me if I wanted the glasses sent to my home. Incredibly stupid me said to her, "There's nobody at home during the day, why don't you send them to me at up here at work?" (Biggest Mistake #2):nonod:
The last I ever heard of my glasses was that they were received at Saginaw Division Plant #3 Receiving. Never to be seen or heard of again.
Generally Purolator is very good. Within Canada. The problem arises when they cross the border and transfer to some US affiliate. And I do not recall what that company is. I believe that is the weak link. But very pleased that the package arrived-finally!

I concure with your dissaproval of Purolator. I ordered a digital cam from Sony and it was shipped via them... It took 5 days to cross Canada (Pickering ON to Yellowknife NWT) and 4 days to cross Yellowknife... (18000 pop.)! I Would avoid them at all cost! If I ship accross the border, I go with Canada (US) post! Lick a buch of stamps and then wait 2 weeks for the smiles...
From: Who says "Nothing is impossible" ? I've been doing nothing for years.
Re: Dont Ship Purolator!! (sd pacecar)
My headers went to the West Indies from Jegs before they got to me three weeks later I aked them how many C3's they figured there were in the West Indies
Hey, I used to be a purolator courier back in Arkansas, many moons ago. I delivered blood and phone records, never any problems on my watch, must be the younger crowed.
