Hello all...just have a quick question about the windshield clips on my 78. I took the stainless t-top center piece and outer top windshield off to be powder coated. When I popped off the top windshield trim, I located several clips with a screw hole in the center. I see on the corner mouldings where two clips screw in at an angle under the actual windshield. My main question is this...The other clips that line the top...Im assuming these slide under the t-top center piece? There are screw holes in them as well but I do not see any places for the screw to go in. I checked my assembly manual but it looks like they dont screw in. I took some pictures and an just looking for someone who may know. Thanks!
Just redid the roof and windshield frame on my 77. I wondered as well. The earlier cars did have screws. The latter ones, like ours just clip under the t moulding. Then the outer reveal moulding clips onto that.

Fair enough...guess they just kept using same clips even though they dont screw into anything. Thanks!
Hi,I did my clips and top trim a couple of months ago,the clips were just floating around and my top S/S trim was fitting less than average ... so I very carefully drilled and screwed the clips in...wow what a difference the top trim molds the screen away better....Warning.. Warning... don't touch the edge of the screen cheers Dave NZ

See my new windshield Dave.
It was the corner trims that got me! There all restored and re-chromed in this photo, and little hex head screws replacing the Phillips head one's that used to be there.
Not wishing to steal a thread or get off topic. Point is yes you can crack a windshield if you touch the edge with a screwdriver.
PM me if you need windshield info Dave.
