Hi, fellow Corvette owners,
. I have a 1982 Corvette. I like the way the car sits with the original shocks, but I want new shocks on the car before I put the new tires on. The question is will the KYB Gas adjust shocks or any other shocks change the ride height? Thank you.
No Jack...they won't. I have a 82 CE with KYB's in it and they are great. They're not Bilsteins, but for what I wanted from this car...very satisfied.
Now TECHNICALLY a shock that has a gas-preload will 'lift' the car incrementally...almost too little to measure. With 185lbs/in fiberglas spring in the back (say) and a 20 lbs preload...it's like 1/16th- 1/8th ".
So don't worry.
'regular shocks' with no pre-load do not affect ride height, even one little bit, EVER.
