Default MSD 6AL. Looking for mounting suggestions.

Looking for a place to mount a MSD 6AL and was considering mounting it down in the little cavity behind the right front tire near the washer bottle. Anything else supposed to be in this area.

The car is missing the wiper door and solenoid. It also has an extended aftermarket L88 hood that covers the opening. I plan to remove the last of the giblets that were left after the wiper door was pulled but I’m wondering if anything else should be in there.

Also any better suggestions?

doh! I mounted mine on the opposite side but the same spot. The hood prop just skims it when opening and closing. Lol you have a good spot. If i can shorten the vibration mounts ill be golden. Or i may leave it.

You don’t indicate the year of your car. On my 73 I mounted the box where the charcoal canister had previously been mounted. I purchased MSD shock mounts with nuts/lock washers on the inner wheel wheel.

Mine is in the cabin behind the Passenger dash where the radio amp use to be. Others have mounted it where you are asking about and the gill should help move air past it to keep it cool. The only thing I have down there is my wiper fluid bottle and the wiper door actuator relay. You dont have a door so that is probably gone and if you dont have AC theres that much more room. THe heater box and fan poke into that area slightly but you should be okay

Mine is installed where the washer bottle used to be. It was easy to fab a bracket to mount the MSD box.
