I am going to put on new sway bars front and rear for my coupe. Actually I don't have one in the rear because it was a SB. What brand and what size is everyone using? I put a set of KYB shocks on this past summer and also have a fiberglass rear spring. I am looking for good handling and don't care for a soft ride.
What size is your front bar, what are your front and rear spring raes and what are your wheel and tire sizes. With this info, you'll get some good recommendations.
The front bar seems pretty small, maybe one inch? I put new BB springs up front this summer, they are original equipment type. I don't what the rear glass spring is but I have seen one similar in Mid-Americas catalog. My tires are BFG radial T\A 225-70-15, wheels are stock ralleys.
467- I am running a VetteBrakes 1 1/4" front bar and currently NO rear bar. I took the rear off (3/4") since there was WAY TOO much oversteer with it on. The car actually handled better WITHOUT that sway bar. I wouldn't go any higher than 9/16" in the rear.
I will have to see how it handles once I fire the new BB up!!
Bob, Good luck with the BB swap, you will love your car even more! Don't tell your wife that one! I figured that with all of the extra power a rear bar must be a good idea. GM put them on way back then, I wonder what size they originally used?

Interesting comments & right on the money according to Dick Guildstrand(hope I got the spelling right). For my bigblock car their tech folks recommended staying w/ the stock bigblock rear sway bar. If you go too big you upset the balance of the car according to them. Even though Dick was busy at the time I called they said I could talk to the man himself if I didn't mind waiting for a coupla minutes. Nice folks who could have made some money by selling me parts if they weren't so honest.
My setup is in my sig, keep in mind my setup is with 16" sticky meats and I love the setup, did very well autocrossing the last time (car does a lot better then the driver I think). If you do run a larger rear swaybar then stock run adjustable end links to better dial in your setup, mine has about a 1/4" give on the back before the bar comes into play. Keep in mind also that a big block car has a different balance then a small block car, you have to set up the front stiffer then a comperable small block vette to make up for the added front weight bias. If your going for handling you'll deffinitly have to go the bigger wheel and tire route makes a huge difference over the 15's.
