Ammeter vs One Wire
The tech at Powermaster alternators tells me that if I install one of their one wire 130 amp alternators, my ammeter will still work. Anyone tried this and is it true?

I installed a 100amp one wire from Summit. My ammeter still works but its resting point is no longer centered. It seemed to have jumped up off center a smidge. It does still react to load and charge. So the high amp alt did effect the gauge I guess, but it didnt render it useless.

One other thing to keep in mind is not all the one wire High amp alternators put out enough charge at idle to keep the light out (GEN) That is not a big deal as soon as you step on it a little the light goes out. Check the test card that comes with the alternator and read the output at idle. It annoys (worrys) some people seeing the light on steady at idle or flickering :)
