Default Center console wiring - help

I have the center console of my 71 pulled out and I am working on getting the wiring put back where it belongs. Its a but of a mess. I have most of the wiring figured out but this one.Can some one help with this red and green one? Second questing the dual / black right above it - I assume this one goes to the heater control.

Pink and Green are usually the back up light circuit. The Black is a ground, see if there is a tab for it on the heater control assembly.

Greg nailed it. On my 69, that double ground wire attaches to a stud on the console held in by a screw in the ashtray assembly.

Thanks for the help. Question where should the back up light plug in - center console area or behind the gauge cluster. I can find the mate for it.The grey ground wire - got it.

Pink/green is back up switch connector, black is console ground. I have no actual pictures unfortunately.

The pink/green goes tru the firewall and connects to the backup switch cable from the gearbox.

They just released the whole wiring kit for a C3 and the photos and instructions are worth a look. Thanks to member OldCarBum for bringing this up!

This is perfect - thanks for sending it on.

I have a manual - does anyone know if the mate is coming out of the transmission or if it is in the cabin.

Hi david71vette,

Sorry, I know this is an old thread, but did you find the mate for this cable?
I found this lose on my 72 as well and I cannot find where it goes?
The link to the attachment that apparently helped you is no longer there.

Cheers, Matt
