Default Seat belt interlock

If you guys could help me out? Yesterday out of the blue my car wouldn’t start. Checked the battery 12.5 interior lights seemed strong but starter would just click. I had been messing around by distributor in the seat belt interlock area. I tried jumping starter solenoid no good. I started pressing the interlock relay. Still no go. I put my charger on for a minute and started turning the key after about 5 quick attempts it started. Battery seems good , connections clean a little dirty around starter. Is this symptomatic of the interlock? The sequencer module is disconnected due to a parasitic drain a few years back. Will the system still try to work with it unplugged? Thanks in advance for any help.

The fact that your charger got it going points to your battery.
What is the battery voltage when you actually engage the starter?
Clean all the cable connections on both ends.

I didn’t check it as it was starting. But after was charging 13.7 or so. I know I should have checked while starting. I guess I’m just wondering if the interlock is the issue or a way to test.
