car's running like crap
missing/stumbling pretty bad. she's all original, no mods. think it could be time for a tune up, new plugs and wires. don't think it's the carb b/c she's good at idle. been wrong before though. what do you guys think? what are the possibilities?

If you "think" it might be time for a tune up, it's probably way past time for one. There are many things that could be causing your car to run like crap, maybe one thing, maybe a combination of things. Before you can isolate the problem though, you'll need to eliminate the most obvious possibilities by bringing all the normal wear items up to snuff. Your problem may be beyond normal tune up items but you won't know until you've done, at the least, normal maintenance.

New plugs, wires, cap and rotor and oxygen sensor first. If after that check timing and make sure throttle position sensor is working and adjusted to the correct voltage. After that I would clean the carb. May be gummed up.
